A few months ago, a friend from Salzburg International Christian Church told us that visiting the Lake District, specifically Keswick, was a must during our time in England. Dana and I discussed this many times and thought that it might not be possible. We had almost given up as public transportation was outrageously expensive and took way too long! Then we looked into renting a car and it was totally feasible! So we loaded up and rented a car!!!
We stopped along the way to take in the sights!

| Lunchtime in Whitby - home of the abbey in Dracula |
 |
| We love all the stone walls! |
We made it to Keswick, enjoyed a night of car camping, and then walked around Derwentwater! We loved seeing the mountains, known as fells, and it made us miss Austria!
Following the instructions of our friend, and the handy map she drew in Dana's planner, we stopped in Grange of Borrowdale for tea and scones! We had explicit instructions to frequent a particular cafe that serves rum butter, the only place in England that still does! We were thankful for this nice treat halfway through the walk and for our friend's wise recommendation!
After our walk, we checked out Keswick and then headed to the edge of the lake to have a picnic. We did some exercises first and then started making a salad picnic, with sheep for our companions!

Unfortunately, the rain started coming down so we continued our supper in the car!
We got up nice and early the next day to slowly make it way back to Scarborough. We stopped at a few places...
 |
| Asda, owned by Wal-Mart for toilet break and donuts! |
 |
| Redcar, a small seaside village, to enjoy said donuts. |
 |
| Another seaside village! |
It was a brilliant adventure and we are so grateful we had the opportunity to go! And Dana did a wonderful job driving on the left side of the road! So super!
